When I was asked to create a promotional flyer for a Louisiana Master Naturalists of Greater New Orleans speaking event, I saw it as an opportunity to enhance the visual identity of the organization. They expressed a particular goal of posting the flyer on college campuses to try and gather some new audiences. I thought it was especially important to include the great photo of the speaker, a young Black woman. Her bio, too, captures her expertise and draws in the audience to want to learn more. If only three hurricanes in a row hadn’t continuously postponed the event!
